There are all kinds of possibilities in facilitating a training program for community media practitioners.
One could, for example, set up a series of workshops - each focusing on a recognized skill.
However, in special event broadcasts, a facilitator might only meet the practitioners for a few hours and never see them again.
One common thread is we are usually dealing here with volunteers and we have to make sure the experience is fun.
So, however long the training, we have to concentrate on learning-by-doing and making sure we have a stress free environment. "There is no such thing as failure."
On way, if there isn't much time, is to show one person to use, say the audio mixer, and ask that person to teach the next.
The whole process focuses on sharing and peer-teaching.
It's possible to set aside a couple of days before a special event broadcast for set up and training.
