As a man named Smith once said, the time you don't spend preparing for a shoot, you will spend apologizing afterwards :)>

1. Test all your equipment before you go out on a shoot.

2. Charge all batteries beforehand.

3. Make sure the crew is comfortable with the equipment. Practice the day before. Give them assignment sheets so they know what they are supposed to do.

4. Review shot lists, if you are using them.

5. Check off the equipment list before you leave.

6. Be early for the shoot, especially if it includes interviews.

7. Relax and have fun.
